BRIC Contemporary Art invites you to the opening of B-side: (Broken) Memory and Remix (BRIC House Gallery) and Jenny Polak: Homeward Bound (BRIC House Project Room). Come take a first peek at the exhibitions, meet the artists, and enjoy a DJ set by Quin Bee, DJ and Lead Creative Director of The Gumbo. ABOUT THE EXHIBITIONS B-side: (Broken) Memory and Remix On view at the BRIC House Gallery Oct. 10, 2023 - Jan. 21, 2024 B-side: (Broken) Memory and Remix is a group exhibition featuring the work of Adama Delphine Fawundu, David Ellis, Camella Ehlke, and Raque Ford that showcases photography, painting, and sculpture to explore remix as a crucial method of creation within the Hip-Hop genre. LEARN MORE >> Jenny Polak: Homeward Bound On view at the BRIC House Project Room Oct. 10, 2023 - Jan. 21, 2024 Drawing on the language of interior design and domesticity, Jenny Polak’s sculptures, installations, and socially-engaged projects materialize as domestic objects infused with imagery of borders and prisons, mapping the home as a site of labor, longing, and the potential for radical hospitality. LEARN MORE >> Venue Information: BRIC House is Brooklyn’s cultural living room: a 40,000 square foot multi-disciplinary arts and media complex in the former Strand Theatre, where emerging and established artists can create work that deepens their practice and engages the diverse communities of the borough. Beginning Nov. 1, 2022, attendees of any BRIC House programming will no longer have to show proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter the building.
