Thank you for supporting Project Iron Bridge. We are pleased to invite you to book your place on a tour of the Iron Bridge and find out more about the conservation project underway.
The tours will start from outside the walkway entrance on the town side of the Iron Bridge, and run for around one hour. They will take on the bankside and on the bridge itself, including insights about the work taking place. In addition to your timed tour, there is also a public walkway across the scaffolding surrounding the bridge, which we encourage you to visit.
Please arrive fifteen minutes before the scheduled start time. The tours have moderate access and will take place outside so please wear suitable clothing and footwear. It will involve walking up and down stairs and on uneven surfaces, which may be slippery when wet. There may be long periods where no seating is available. There are a maximum of two tickets per person.
Most events take place during the week, as that is when the conservation work will be taking place. There are also a few Saturday tours, however, please be aware that although the tour will take the same route with an experienced guide, the experience may not be the same as the weekday tours as there will be no conservators on site. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.
