The Queens Symphony Orchestra presents a beautiful concert based on famous operatic couples who are deeply in love. The first three works are excerpts from Western operas, while the Butterfly Lovers Concerto uses melodies from Chinese opera, with the solo violin (played by Nancy Zhou) as the main protagonist. The happy love story of Ruslan and Lyudmila revolves around the ancient of Kyiv with a tableau of the city and the celebration of the motherland. The rest of our couples share a tragic fate: Tristan and Isolde, Butterfly and Pinkerton and Zhu and Liang. Don’t miss this afternoon of beautiful music.
This concert is presented without an intermission.
Please Note: Under the current CUNY/Queens College COVID-19 safety guidelines, all ticket holders ages 5 and older must show proof of full vaccination along with a photo ID to be admitted.
