Description
Join us at the Tour Launch of the Road to a Green New Deal! At this Tour Stop, we'll explore what the pain of the climate crisis looks like for Boston and the nation, and what the promise of the Green New Deal will look like, too. We'll hear from political champions, including Senator Markey, Representative Pressley, and Boston City Councilor Wu, and community and movement leaders, including Reverend Mariama White-Hammond, 32BJ SEIU, and the students who led the Boston Youth Climate Strike. We'll set the roadmap to 2021 and beyond, discovering what the GND means for each of us-- and what action we'll take to make it happen.
Spanish translation will be available thanks to The Boston Interpreter's Collective.

Accessibility:
The Strand main lobby entrance is at street level off Columbia Road, and both entrances to the auditorium are ramped. Access to the balcony levels is available by a passenger elevator, which has stops at the ground level, rear of the upper orchestra seating, and rear of the lower mezzanine level. Assisted listening devices are available upon request.
This event’s electricity use is being matched with wind energy from small turbines across Massachusetts and Rhode Island thanks to local non-profit Green Energy Consumers Alliance. If you’re from Mass or RI, you can make the switch to green electricity through Green Energy Consumers too!
