Description
Join Scottish performer and recording artist Lesley Rankine for a rare Toronto performance as her Ruby project!
She began her career as lead singer of London noise band Silverfish and was an early member of Pigface, the loose-knit industrial noise super-group with Trent Reznor and Martin Atkins of PIL. She then created her solo project, Ruby.
About RubyRuby’s first release was the acclaimed electronic-downtempo-trip hop album, Salt Peter, a classic of the mid '90's alternative & dance music scenes. The album was recorded entirely digitally-still very innovative at that time. Salt Peter & the follow-up "Short-Staffed at the Gene Pool" were remixed by the likes of Primal Scream, Bench, Peshay, Gilles Peterson, Danny Saber, the Mekons, Mira Calix, Conor Oberst.
Recently, Ruby has returned to the stage with her unique voice and collage of electronic accompaniment.

Featuring Special Guest, Saintfield!
Saintfield is a collaboration between partners Ciara Adams and Ali Jafri. Their sound encapsulates beautifully juxtaposed elements of the feminine and masculine, light and dark, soft and harsh, loud and quiet, old and new wrapped in Celtic, Contemporary, South Asian and Middle Eastern flavours. A true reflection of the couple behind the music, rhythms and lyrics.
