Description
The Internet of Things (IoT) is taking shape as the next mega-trend. Equipment is becoming more digital and connected, forming networks of machines and new ecosystems. According to Gartner, 20.8 billion IoT devices will be connected worldwide by 2020. Those devices will be used almost anywhere, anytime—at home, in the car, and as wearables. As the field grows, so do the cyber threats. Each of these connected devices is exposed to potential attacks that might cause damage and breach of privacy. Many studies show that security and privacy are the number one concern of consumers adopting IoT devices into their daily lives.Security of Things, a hackathon hosted at the MIT Media Lab, is an even centered on IoT security, to promote attention to these threats as well as put to the test some of the most promising solutions in the field. Our industry collaborators for this event, Dojo-labs and Synopsys, will be holding hands-on sessions at both beginner and intermediate/advanced levels. The event includes informative talks as well as hands-on activities, with a focus on smart-home IoT devices, their vulnerabilities, and best practice tools to discover, prevent, and detect cyber attacks on IoT devices.Want to experience the fun of hacking? Join us for this event and explore the future of cybersecurity in the IoT space.ScheduleThe event will take place Sat-Sun March 5-6th, 2016.Saturday - March 5th:
