Dear Ottawa,
We need your help.
For seven years we've proudly served the Ottawa music community as an organization that is 100% independent and a registered not-for-profit. Operating as a ground-level resource for people to connect with and support musicians, we've committed to only allowing ads that are relevant to the community's interest and avoid corporate sponsorship. But frankly, ad revenue is few and far between.
We're looking to the music scene to give back throughout the month of March in order to keep Showbox alive and sustainable. We want to pay writers and photographers, and we need to be able to keep the website running without going into the red each year.
To show our appreciation for our supporters, we're hosting a concert on March 22nd in The Commons at MediaStyle (a beautiful historic building) featuring local heroes Mushy Gushy and Sparklesaurus. Even more, several community sponsors have graciously donated gifts for us to raffle off. We'll also be giving away a record player at the end of the funding drive thanks to our primary sponsor The Record Centre. All donations of $20 or over will be automatically entered to win the turntable setup!
