Celebrate the start of the New Year of the Monkey with the Sake Institute of Ontario (SIO)! As we warm up your late January evening with winter-appropriate sake styles and food pairings, take part in typical Japanese celebratory and New Year customs, all in the grand setting of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. Experience a 'kagami-biraki' (a sake barrel breaking ceremony) and 'mochi tsuki' (traditional rice-cake pounding ceremony) while sipping premium sake offerings from our Member distributors & Toronto's Izumi brewery.
