Join singer-songwriter, Jordan Messerole at 2 pm on June 29th for "It's Not All About You: Building Stories/Songs from Outside Your Own Life. This songwriting workshop will be held in the 2nd Floor Studio at the St. Mane Theatre.
Award-winning songwriter Jordan Messerole will lead an informal workshop on his particular approach to writing songs. unlike other writers, Messerole's songs are almost never about him or the life he has lived. Using information gleaned from people he's met and a close examination of the human experience, Jordan has been able to develop as songbook of hundreds of original songs, each seemingly coming out of thin air. Feeling confident in the notion that anything can be turned into a song, Messerole approaches each new idea with an open mind and a sharpened pencil.
Participants are welcome to bring a song they’re working on, or come with no experience in songwriting at all!
This interactive workshop is the second in a three part series of Songwriting workshops, which are paired with the Songwriter in the Round concert Series!
The Songwriters in the Round concert and workshop series is presented by Sarah Peterson in partnership with Lanesboro Arts. Sarah Peterson is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
