The STEM Leaders Meetup is an online meetup to bring together the wonderful people who run or mentor at STEM, coding, and engineering clubs for young people.
In this new series we will run three online meetups focussing on different aspects of inclusion.
These sessions will feature specialist guest speakers, and advisors, offering inclusivity advice on Gender, Neurodiversity, and Safeguarding.

About this event
This LGBTI awareness workshop will broadly cover terms and definitions, social challenges facing LGBTI people, legal rights for LGBTI people, top tips & correct language and do’s and don’ts for inclusion, ending with a Q&A. It is intended to help people gain a greater level of confidence and be less afraid of getting things wrong when dealing with or supporting LGBTI people.
Join Tanya Howden (Computer Science Teacher in Training) and Kelly Gardner (HMFC Innovation Centre) for this exciting new series on how to make your STEM club as inclusive and accessible as possible. This session will feature Karen and James from Equality Network - www.equality-network.org
With the generous support of Tech Embers, the STEM Leaders Meetup has received funding that will allow us to deliver more constructive meetups with the help of paid experts.
We will be bringing in experts in Gender Inclusion, Neurodiversity support, and Safeguarding to provide attendees with uptodate advice on how to ensure their STEM clubs are welcoming to as many young people as possible.
What should I expect?
An opportunity to network with fellow STEM club leaders and hear from experienced speakers on how you can improve the inclusivity and accessibility of your STEM club. Everyone is welcome!
What will I learn?
This will be an opportunity to receive expert advice on important topics that will ensure your club attendees feel included and safe within your space. This is also an opportunity to stay up-to-date with how fellow STEM clubs are being supported and run, and a chance to bounce ideas with your peers and connect.
