Come celebrate cripqueer pride as we showcase incredible all disabled cast! ✨ Boy Gorgeous ✨ Lincoln Spark ✨ Marius the Faerie Bear ✨ Earle Gay ✨ Aria Okay ✨ Rusty Wrenches ✨ Brujo Mars ✨ Meow Mx DOORS @ 5, SHOW 6 TICKETS $20 IN ADVANCE MISSION STATEMENT Queer community doesn’t just belong to the able bodied, and pride shouldn’t exist without radical disabled and immunocompromised inclusion and accessibility. Disabled, queer, and sober identities so often intermix, yet spaces for us to thrive simply don’t exist. In an ongoing pandemic, immunocompromised people have been fundamentally ostracized from society. Drag shows are more often than not entirely inaccessible to a large portion of physically disabled and neurodivergent audiences, and almost all nightlife comes alongside massive peer pressure and triggers for sober individuals. Ableism is so ingrained in us that this is considered normal and acceptable. We can do better, and we must do better. Studio Access is here to uplift the overly marginalized, the under represented, and the dehumanized. Queer, disabled, immunocompromised, and sober individuals deserve fully unrestricted access to community, celebration, and joy. We have the power to make that happen. BARRIER-FREE PAY-IT-FORWARD TICKETS Financial accessibility is really important to us, as disabled people face some of the highest rates of poverty. For this reason, we have lowered our ticket costs as much as possible for this show, while still offering five barrier-free tickets. The barrier-free tickets are targeted specifically for low/no income disabled folks. To claim a ticket, message us on @thisteahaus with your preferred name to put on our ticket list. No need to prove your disability or financial situation to us. If you want to help ensure our ability to keep costs low and keep offering barrier-free tickets (while still covering show expenses), you can purchase pay-it-forward tickets at our ticketing link. If it’s in your means, we’d really appreciate it! ACCESSIBILITY INFO The Brass Iris strives to be an accessible and accountable space as much as possible. Our studio is wheelchair accessible, with no stairs or large bumps. Our bathroom is gender neutral and on the smaller side, but has a wide entry, lower sink, and support bars. Persons in larger chairs may have some difficulty. We are on a bike route, as well as the 15 bus route. Parking in our lot is extremely limited, though there is parking available across the street on Carlton Terrace, or in the nearby parking lot with the Shoppers and Tim Hortons. Masks and sanitization of hands required upon entry. Please be aware that performers will not be masked during the show HEPA air filters will be used throughout the space, courtesy of Masks4Victoria! Volume will be at a lower level than is standard for drag shows, to be more sensory friendly. That being said, lighter cheering and some applause will still be welcomed, so please feel free to bring extra ear protection if you need! Earplugs will be available for use. There will be absolutely zero use of flashing lights, moving lights, or strobes, as well as no use of smoke/fog machines. SHOW INFO Seated room - rented chairs will be arranged in rows without tables, and we'll have dedicated space for folks who would rather get comfy and sit on the floor with a blanket! If weight limit on the chairs is a concern, reach out and we will make sure you have comfortable seating! There will be one 20-30 minute intermission halfway through the show, with an estimated 2 hour runtime. Weather permitting, we will have an outdoor sober bar Please refrain from wearing scents - maintaining a low/no scent space is an important factor in accessibility Cash tips are highly encouraged, and we will also accept tips through Square payments!
