UPDATE JULY 1ST: REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. The 6th Annual Summer School of Women's Activism (SSOWA) will examine the history of the male right of sexual access from the woman-of-color perspective and how that is manifested in the policing of the world and communities of color; and in corporate globalization in the parallel phenomena of colonizing territories, resources and bodies. SSOWA will also examine the response of feminism in representative countries of five continents, to understand similarities and differences in the struggle to free women from rape culture. A bootcamp for intersectional and transnational feminism, SSOWA is held for four Saturdays, from 11am to 4 pm. It is designed to bring the basic ideas, analysis and visions of the women’s movement to participants in a clear and concise format. These are related to the everyday lives of women and participants are encouraged to speak out about their own experiences and to form a bond of sisterhood with those in SSOWA. 2016 SSOWA will be held in Manhattan on July 16, 23, 30 + August 6th. * * * LOCATION IS TBD * * * Registration Information:• $60 for Individual Participants• $70 for Professionals and Can-Afford It• $100 for Institutional Representatives Participation is only for the woman-identified.
