Future Front is returning to The Line Hotel Austin to host Swim Sessions — a four-part poolside series, celebrating summer.
Come through on the last Thursday of every month to vibe alongside women and LGBTQ+ DJs, take a dip in the pool and enjoy a specially curated nighttime art market. Swimming is optional. Mutual respect is a must. Swimsuits and its-the-weekend energy encouraged. Bring your besties.
Tickets are $10 and every cent will benefit community initiatives we care about. Capacity is limited.

MEET THE DJ
DJ Cassandra, (Cassie Shankman) owner of Sounds by Cassandra, is an Austin-based DJ (@djcassandra_), curator, composer, producer, educator, and creative. She grew up between Texas and London, and is a big believer in community and collaboration.
As a composer and orchestrator, she has been recognized for her work with film, visual artists, chamber groups, wind ensembles, apps, musicals, and music therapy technology. As a performer, she’s played with musicians such as jazz trombonist Wycliffe Gordon at Lincoln Center, DEVO’s frontman Mark Mothersbaugh to indie-rock artist Ben Kweller.
As a DJ and curator, she’s worked with clients such as AppleTV+, Virgin, US Women’s Volleyball Team, Nascar, The Recording Academy, Bumble, Hulu, Topo Chico, Soho House and Teen Vogue. The weddings she's DJ'd have been featured in Junebug Weddings and New York Magazine’s The Cut. DJ Cassandra has opened and closed for LP Giobbi, RUN DMC, Angel and Dren, Win Butler of Arcade Fire (DJ Windows98), Midland, and Goldfish.
Cassie’s current compositional focus is designing and composing Biomedical Music™ integrated with biomedical devices for rehabilitation. These compositions are created utilizing brain-based movement technology to help people walk again. As a proponent for music education, Cassie the co-founder of Picardy, an interactive platform for developing music theory and musicianship skills. She was also the Program & Media Manager/Lead Producer for the non-profit Golden Hornet, a music composition laboratory co-founded by composer Graham Reynolds. Recently, Cassie has been working as an on-screen live performance consultant and teacher for Season 2 of Walker Texas Ranger. She is also an active member for the GRAMMY's Texas Chapter Education Committee.
She is a graduate from The University of Texas with a degree in music composition and a secondary focus in film studies. Cassie is a music and mental health advocate.
This series’ DJs have been curated by Future Front team member María Rivera-Felizardo.
HOW TO ATTEND
Tickets are $10 by donation (free for FFTX members and hotel guests). Your ticket includes your pool pass. You must reserve a ticket in order to attend.
All ticket proceeds will benefit community initiatives we care about. This session's benefitting project is our very own Creative Future of Texas Fund, a micro-grants program for women and queer creatives and small business owners in Texas.
PREPARE YOUR VISIT
VENUE LOCATION + ACCESSIBILITY — All Swim Sessions will be held at The Line Hotel Austin pool deck, which is located at 111 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, Texas 78701. The venue is wheelchair-accessible and all activities will occur on the ground floor.
PARKING — We highly encourage utilizing rideshare or carpooling as there is limited valet parking available onsite. This venue is easily accessible by Austin public transportation, too.
OUR COMMUNITY SAFETY GUIDELINES —
All FFTX staff, volunteers and guests will be required to practice mutual respect, as well as demonstrate an alignment with Future Front’s code of conduct and values.
All sessions are held online or in outdoor, open-air spaces. Capacity is limited to reduce crowding of any kind.
All guests are required to practice mutual respect and social distancing, as well as follow APH’s COVID-19 Guidelines, which currently include:
At all levels, people can wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by their personal level of risk.
People with potential COVID-19 symptoms and/or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask, regardless of a negative test.
People with a positive COVID-19 test and/or not fully vaccinated should not participate in an in-person Future Front event or visit a Future Front location until they test negative and/or they are fully vaccinated and no longer at risk.
