(please help us make a catchier name - free ticket to whoever comes up with the best option) Bringing you another night of dance from all the corners of South Asia, with our stellar Queer Femme line up - DJ Amita, DJ Kow, Mariiiiiiiiiium & a debut by Theysiii! This time, featuring live dhols, beats and more! DJ Amita is a legend in the Queer Toronto music scene, as a director, producer and the founder and resident DJ of Besharam for the past 15 years, Canada's longest running and largest Bollywood club parties. Her DJing has roots in Desh Pardesh, women's and LGBTQ communities and she strives to always create an inclusive dance floor space for all those who shamelessly love Bollywood music. Kowshika Thanam aka DJ Kow is a Toronto-based DJ who represents RLE Sound Crew. An international sensation featuring Tamil music, Hip Hop, Afrobeats, and everything in the middle, DJ Kow will make sure to have you on the floor, getting your kuthu on. Mariiiiiiiiiium is a multidisciplinary artist who likes to experiment with digital art. Her work ranges from contemporary dance pieces to glitch art videos. She is now dipping her toes in the world of music through rap, music production and DJ-ing. Marium grew up in Karachi and has spent the last decade in Toronto. Through her work she navigates her internal culture clash as she tries to make sense of the world around her. Theysiii is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher, writer and community organizer based in Tkaronto. While their work has been predominantly within the sphere of visual arts, such as painting and photography, they have recently transitioned into experimenting with music production, mixing, and DJ-ing. Inspired by the revolutionary power of queer joy in their hometown of Lahore, and their life in Tkaronto, their art is borderless, amalgamating genres to curate transnational musical experiences for their community.
