About the Speakers
Anthony Lacavera, the Chairman and CEO of Globalive Technology, is supported by a leadership team with extensive blockchain, technology, investment and corporate governance experience. As Chairman and Founder of Globalive Capital, Anthony is best known for founding WIND Mobile in 2007, which became Canada's fourth largest wireless carrier before being sold in 2015 to Shaw Communications for $1.6 Billion. Founding partners Globalive Capital, the founders of Mundo Inc. and VRG Capital today announce the launch of Globalive Technology in January 2018, a new company focused on disrupting traditional industries by solving real-world problems with blockchain technology. Michele Romanow is an engineer and a serial entrepreneur who started three companies before her 28th birthday. The youngest ever entrepreneur to join CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den, Michele is the co-founder of e-commerce platforms Buytopia.ca and SnapSaves (acquired by Groupon), which have saved millions of users hundreds of millions of dollars. Ranked in WXN’s “100 Most Powerful in Canada” and listed as the only Canadian on Forbes’ “Millennial on a Mission” list. Her current venture Clearbanc is a leading small business capital provider building a decentralized bond marketplace on the blockchain. Michele is a director on the board of Vail Resorts, Shad Valley, Freshii, League of Innovators and BlockX.
Michael H. Conn is the CEO and a Director of Ether Capital, a technology company focused on building the central business and investment hub for the Ethereum ecosystem. He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Quail Creek Partners, an advisory and consulting business focused on the global financial services and financial technology space. Prior to Ether Capital and founding Quail Creek, Conn was Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director-Head of Strategy, Operations and Development with AllianceBernstein’s Alternative Investment Management group, which manages portfolios of hedge funds and a variety of private equity, leveraged-buyout, distressed-debt, venture capital and real estate funds in retail and institutional investment vehicles.

Peter McCullagh has over 35 years’ experience as a successful entrepreneur, business executive and thought leader.Prior to founding TenX Ventures, he spent ~ 10 years growing and helping to sell 3 companies:Mysis plc which was sold in two parts for $3.2B, Siebel Systems Inc., sold to Oracle for $5.9B, and e-Chemicals Inc., which was sold to Aspen Technology.Before this, McCullagh was a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, a banker at Scotiabank, and started and ran numerous start-ups beginning in his teen years. He is currently Founder and Managing Partner atTenX Ventures Inc., a Vancouver based, Active, Early Stage Venture Capital firm that backs passionate overachievers with early stage funding and advisory, focusing on scaling up rapidly.
Loudon Owen is co-Founder, Chair and CEO of DLT Labs, a global leader in distributed data management and enterprise solutions using blockchain technology. With offices in Canada, India and Japan, DLT Labs has the world’s largest team of blockchain architects, designers and integrators and a full suite of secure and scalable blockchain products for data and digital asset provenance, storage, management and exchange. Kesem Frank, Aion Co-Founder is a technology strategy expert specializing in blockchain powered enterprise architecture. Following a leadership position in Deloitte’s Blockchain practice, Kesem co-founded Nuco, one of the earliest enterprise blockchain platforms and a founding member of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. In his capacity as COO, Kesem led multiple projects, positioning blockchain at the core of future business platforms for fortune-1000 companies. In 2017, Kesem directed the launch of Aion, a decentralized interoperability network, establishing its position as a globally leading blockchain protocol. Kesem is an experienced team leader, having served as a naval officer with the IDF for 5 years, his passion for startups and innovation led him to join UofT’s Creative Destruction Lab as a program fellow. Kesem achieved Cum Laude honors for both his undergraduate degrees of Law (LLB) and business administration (BA) and was awarded multiple scholarships towards his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Toronto.
Phil Long is a partner at the law firm Miller Thomson LLP, practicing corporate and securities law with a focus on technology and blockchain businesses. Phil has developed an expertise researching and advising clients on blockchain and cryptocurrency matters, including acting for issuers in initial coin offerings, assisting blockchain developers on early stage financing and corporate matters and advising clients on reverse take-over transactions (RTOs) and initial public offerings (IPOs). Phil is a member of the firm’s multidisciplinary Blockchain Group, which includes lawyers experienced in the blockchain space, focusing on corporate and securities law, taxation, international structuring, cybersecurity, intellectual property, litigation and media rights.
