Tom Zuber has advised some of the most iconic companies in the world on their patent and trademark portfolios. He is at the cutting edge of cannabis patent and trademark law. Tom holds a law degree from Columbia Law School, a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard Government School, and a biomedical engineering degree from Rutgers University, where he graduated with highest honors.
Eugene Morgulis, Director of Legal & Strategic Initiatives, National Association of Cannabis Businesses
As the NACB’s LA-based executive and Director of Legal & Strategic Initiatives, Eugene Morgulis oversees the creation of the organization’s National Standards and heads up its Symposium program. Eugene's legal career began at the international law firm Ropes & Gray in Boston, MA. His practice included Regulatory, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy law. In 2013, he was awarded the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice Recognition Award for his work on NAACP v. Matt Wolf, CEO, WVC Holdings, Inc. & CEO, Contract Pharmacal Corp
Matt is the CEO of Contract Pharmacal Corp. (“CPC”), a contract development and manufacturing organization focused on OTC and Rx drug products as well as nutraceuticals. Matt has been with CPC for over 20 years, and has grown the business from $15 million in 1997 to $180 million in 2018. CPC's manufacturing operations span more than 625,000 square feet across several facilities with the capacity to produce more than 17 billion capsules, tablets and other solid dose formats annually, with the ability to fill more than 120 million bottles per year. CPC maintains strong relationships with hundreds of customers globally and has commercialized more than five thousand products worldwide. Bobbi Koz Paley is a ChangeMaker with a proven track record of identifying cultural shifts, investing early, and creating connections across multiple industries and sectors. She has been on the cusp of myriad cultural trends in her lifetime, establishing herself as an early player in real estate, art, and cannabis before they were asset classes. A pioneer in Design Thinking, she has consistently embraced innovation and opportunity to create value.
In 2014, anticipating the looming cultural, economic, and technological transformations in the cannabis industry, Bobbi partnered with her son, Jamie Koz. Uniting her creativity with his decades of experience in cannabis cultivation, they originally opened four micro-grows in Los Angeles, joined ArcView’s global network of leading investors and entrepreneurs, and established an evolving ecosystem among their investments, makers, and fellow investors.
Barry Bordetsky, Cherry LLC Chief Legal Advisor
Barry comes into the cannabis field with a litigation background, representing individuals, publicly and privately held entities, brokerage firms and registered representatives in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration forums, throughout the country. Barry's extensive litigation and securities experience provides Cherry with yet another diversified outlook, in this instance as an attorney who knows how to limit potential exposure to clients and protect the clients’ interests should a matter formalize. Barry combines his experience as a commercial and securities litigator with his background as a former general counsel of a publicly traded company to provide Cherry with an understanding and preparation for legal obstacles that are before the industry now, and may be presented in the future.

His experience has been focused in the medical device and nutraceutical manufacturing industries with an added stint as VP of Operations at the largest manufacturer and wholesaler of high-end kayaks in the world.
Paul Hennessy, Senior VP Sales of Contract Pharmacal Corp
With a legacy of experience gained while working for many world renown healthcare brands, Paul helps lead the strategic direction and business integration of CPC and our many partners. A well-rounded professional, when he isn’t negotiating a deal, Paul can be found lending his engineering background to our packaging team.
Vikas Desai, Founding Partner at WelCan Capital
Vikas Desai is a founder and partner at WelCan Capital, a venture capital firm focused in the cannabis industry. WelCan invests in high-impact, foundational companies across early-stage plant touching and ancillary businesses. With an emphasis on seed investing, WelCan looks to align with experienced entrepreneurs solving key problems that exist in the industry. Prior to WelCan, Vikas was a private equity investor at Oaktree Capital Management and began his career at Morgan Stanley in investment banking, focusing on real estate M&A and capital markets.
Evan Schnurmacher, Junior analyst at Phyto Partners
Evan Schnurmacher began his professional career in the film industry. Evan held several positions at companies including Information Television and The Birds Nest Foundation. For the past 2 years Evan has held sales and client delivery roles at Yext. At the start of 2019, Evan joined Phyto Partners as an Junior analyst. His roles include dealflow intake, researching investment targets and attending industry conferences to establish a presence and network in the industry.
