From the waters of the Dai people, to the plains of Xinjiang, to mystical tales of Chinese folklore, we bring together our most magnificent dance performances. The highlight of this performance is a presentation of the classical Chinese ballet, "The Chinese Mermaid" where ballet and Chinese dance blend together. In this ballet from 1959, inspired by "The Little Mermaid," a mermaid shows her human lover the world below where the sea comes to life.
