MEET THE PRODUCERS
The Front Market has emerged from what was formerly known as craftHER Market. craftHER was designed around supporting homegrown businesses, creatives and organizations and sustaining communities that care about gender equity. Active from 2016 to 2020, craftHER Market saw more than 20,000 guests and supported more than 1500 creatives and business owners. Now, after a year of shutdowns, pivots and existential realness, The Front Market will carry that work into the future.
As producers of The Front Market, Future Front is a 501c3 nonprofit, homegrown in Austin, Texas. We nurture spaces where women and LGBTQ+ creatives, founders and leaders can grow together. Currently, we produce The Front Market and Festival, host year-round workshops and meet-ups, as well as create resources for resilience in creative industries.
You’re invited to join us, of course. You can learn more about how it all works, our team and what we do: futurefronttexas.org
PREPARE YOUR VISIT TO THE FRONT MARKET
Distribution Hall is located at 1500 E 4th St, Austin, TX 78702—and operates as an event space and production studio. Originally constructed to house Austin's first German beer importer, this thoughtfully restored mid-century structure now features a 7,000 sq-ft studio warehouse, a 3,000 sq-ft open-air hangar, and a beautiful 7,500 sq-ft courtyard and lawn.
WHERE TO PARK: Distribution Hall is located in the heart of East Austin. There's metered street parking, as well as free parking in surrounding neighborhoods. You can also utilize a 300+ public parking garage across the street—it's a flat fee of $10 per day. We always recommend carpooling and/or utilizing public transportation, if you can, though, to be conscious of traffic and congestion for our neighbors and vendors! There's also bus stop nearby.
WHAT TO DO: When you arrive at the market, you'll have plenty of vendors to meet, plus a chance to browse our curated food court. DJ sets, workshops and live art installations will rotate each day, too.
WHAT TO EAT/DRINK: The Front Market's food court is immaculate; if you can't find something at the food court, though, there plenty of restaurants and businesses within walking distance.
