Stone Hall Sessions is pleased and proud to present The MacGregor Two as the tenth concert in our 2023 Season.
The MacGregor Two are an award-winning Canadian classic country duo from Pickering, Ontario, thrilling audiences across southern Ontario and beyond with grass-roots Grand ole Opry styled Classic Country Music. A refreshing father/daughter act, full of fun, and sometimes corny country humour.
While singing the classic favorites, Alison MacGregor plays her acoustic guitar with solid accompaniment from Scott (Dad) on the upright bass. From early childhood, Alison developed discipline and style in her singing through her teenage years participating at church and school activities. Alison’s singing style has become uniquely her own, however, she is often compared to Rhonda Vincent and Alison Krauss. With the sense of humour of Mini Pearl.
Scott MacGregor is a self-professed “Side man”. Providing solid bass accompaniment, duet harmonies, and the odd solo. He is often the jovial brunt of Alison’s humours antics both on and off stage. With a lifetime of playing country music, Scott is a good fit with Alison’s classic repertoire.
The MacGregor Two truly demonstrate that the country classics are now the new “New country.”
