Patricia J Forte, Partner, Miller Thomson LLP
Pat Forte is a lawyer with Miller Thomson LLP, a national business law firm with offices across Canada. Pat is a partner in the firm’s Waterloo office and a member of the Advocacy Group. Pat has an Honours BA in Psychology from the University of Waterloo, a law degree from Western University, and a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation through the Global Risk Management Institute. In 2014, she completed an executive leadership program at Harvard Business School.
Pat has practiced in Waterloo Region for her entire career. She became a partner in 2007, the same year she finished paying her student loans. She maintains a busy civil litigation practice with two primary areas of focus: First, employment law, which includes advising about absence management and human rights; and second, insurance defence, defending disability, life and casualty claims, and providing advisory services such as coverage and claims opinions, plan design, drafting and interpretation.
