Maya Belardo:
From middle school jazz bands to last summer’s Clifford Brown festival in Rodney Square, Maya has continued to sharpen her vocal skills and exercises them regularly throughout the region, opening for well-known groups and headlining her own performances as well. She has been called “Songbird” and the “Princess of Jazz” by her contemporaries and fans alike, giving credence to the work she has put in over the years, a dedication and passion that underlines a maturity few would expect from such adolescence. But it is precisely her youthful vigor and the eschewing of typical teenage tropes that convinces us that Maya Belardo will be a powerful voice on stage and in the musical community, as well as a classy and sophisticated representative of our city for years to come.

Akinyemi:
Akinyemi’s debut album is a lot of things, but more than anything it is a journey into Akinyemi’s psyche. The album explores his internal struggle to maintain the culture and values of his heritage while also immersing himself into the NYC ethos. The result is a story that is uniquely his own.
Akinyemi is preparing to make waves, with support from Live Nation’s Ones To Watch, Ebro In The Morning, Vice, Office Magazine, & NPR. He's been featured on Fresh Finds, Alternative Hip Hop, & Spilled Ink Spotify playlists. After working with Ad Council to create Obama’s Class of 2020 Virtual Graduation mental health campaign “Seize The Awkward,” Akinyemi is prepping to release his debut album as he continues to work with socio-political initiatives to continue to use his music to have a true impact.
