Description
74% of Americans self-report that they live with digestive and gut discomfort almost daily.
It tracks — "probiotic" everything, from soda to cookies, can be found in the aisles of health food stores, and so many of us have tried a gluten-free, vegan, Paleo, low-FODMAP, [insert new trend here] diet in an attempt to end bloat, discomfort, sluggishness, and stomach aches for good.
But what if you've changed your diet and you chug a probiotic kombucha daily but don't notice any changes? It might be time to try a different approach.
Holisticism is teaming up with Almila Kakinc-Dodd of The Thirlby to present The Science & Esotericism of Digestion. A nursing student at Johns Hopkins who uses her Western medical knowledge in conjunction with alternative and complementary wellness practices, Almila will walk us through what some of the energetic culprits behind digestion issues might be — and how we can end the pain for good.
The gut is so much more than just a body system — it represents our identity, our intuition, and the connection from our brain to our body. You shouldn't have to live with stomach issues. Instead, this workshop will teach attendees how to dig deeper and apply different approaches to find ease.
In this workshop, you'll learn:
The Digestive System 101: The organs to consider when understanding a healthy digestion and how it effects other pathways such as hormones*
Internal: Hitting the nail right on the head with questions that include whether probiotics are necessary and it what form and other nutritional components that support a healthy gut
Beyond Probiotics & External Modalities: This will cover external modalities and activities to consider that are affordable or free that can have a direct impact on balancing digestion, such as 5-minute physical therapy exercises
This is a virtual workshop — attendees will be able to ask questions in real time and get feedback from Almila.
Can’t make the virtual event live broadcast? No biggie. All attendees will receive an audio, video, and PDF version of the workshop digitally.
