Based on dozens of interviews conducted with women, Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues addresses women’s sexuality and the social stigma surrounding rape and abuse, creating a conversation about and with women. Performances of The Vagina Monologues are a mechanism for moving people to act to end violence. This performance comes at a time when reproductive rights are facing attacks at the federal and state levels and serves as a benefit for the Kansas Abortion Fund and an opportunity to confront the violence that continues against women and the power we have to stand against it.
