THIS IS THE REGION’S FLAGSHIP EVENT FOR DECARBONISATION. Marketing Humber Bondholders, alongside event partners Yorkshire Water, are reaching out to the business and local community to encourage participation in The Waterline Summit. Delegates can choose which events they would like to attend as part of the day-long programme, leaving and entering as they wish: - THE WATERLINE EXHIBITION 1PM-5PM - THE WATERLINE DEBATE 5PM-8PM This is the perfect opportunity to grow support and endorsement of our region’s opportunity and share ideas to propel us towards our end goal of achieving a zero-carbon economy. This event is open to everyone in the region, it is free to attend and take part. As ambassadors of our region, please bring your supply chains, your customers, your colleagues and your neighbours - this challenge and the opportunities ahead are for everyone in the Humber. Delegates and guests will learn of the transformational projects of all scales, and how these come together to build a new model for decarbonisation both in business and communities. This event will raise the profile of the region, demonstrating how the Humber can provide solutions to this global challenge, and cement our regional ambition. THE WATERLINE EXHIBITION 1PM-5PM The exhibition will provide opportunities for companies and organisations, and local communities to learn, demonstrate and consult on transformational projects – sharing ideas and best practice. Exhibitions and seminars to be held for a wide range of audiences focusing on the five grand challenges for decarbonisation: electricity and energy, agriculture, manufacturing and industry, transport, and buildings and people. THE WATERLINE DEBATE 5PM-8PM Every business has a crucial role to play in building a sustainable future for the Humber. Join us for a live debate with internationally renowned climate change keynote speaker Dr. Gabrielle Walker. An expert strategist, speaker and moderator, Dr. Walker has advised governments and global humanitarian leaders, and will share her knowledge on how we can develop a zero carbon economy for our region’s future. Gabrielle gives keynote addresses to corporate audiences around the world. She is also an accomplished moderator of high-level debates, guiding panels involving global CEOs, former heads of state, government ministers, military generals and global humanitarian leaders. She has extensive experience at designing and facilitating innovative “safe-space” conversations between global leaders, from small round tables through to major international meetings. Gabrielle has presented many TV and radio programs for the BBC. She has been Climate Change Editor at Nature and Features Editor at New Scientist and has written very extensively for many international newspapers and magazines, including The Economist, Prospect, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. A self-confessed 'ice addict' Gabrielle has made more than a dozen trips to both poles. She has also climbed trees in the Amazon rainforest, swum with piranhas, been sneezed on by a humpback whale, hooked lava out of a live volcano, and flown in zero gravity.
