About the Book SPACE BAND is a new out-of-this-world adventure which follows best friends and bandmates George, Neila and Bash, who find themselves beamed up into space to compete in an intergalactic Battle of the Bands. The book brings together two of Tom’s greatest passions, music and space, and is inspired by his own experiences in McFly and friendship with bandmates Danny Jones, Harry Judd, and Dougie Poynter. SPACE BAND the album will also be released alongside the book, consisting of eight original songs based on characters and storylines! The music will also offer a unique, multi-dimensional reading experience for children, with lyrics from the songs included throughout the book. About the Author Tom Fletcher is one of the UK's most popular children's authors. The Christmasaurus was the biggest debut middle-grade novel of 2016 and was shortlisted for a British Book Award. Since then, Tom has published several more chart-topping children's novels including The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch, The Christmasaurus and the Naughty List, The Creakers and the instant number-one bestseller The Danger Gang. Tom also writes the incredibly successful Who's in Your Book? picture-book series and is one half of the author duo behind the Dinosaur that Pooped picture-book series too, which has sold over 1.5 million copies. His books have been translated into thirty-five languages and to date he has sold over 3.5 million copies of his books in the UK alone, while The Christmasaurus is currently being developed by The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey into an animated, feature-length movie with original songs written by Tom. As well as his career as an author, by the age of 21, Tom had penned 10 UK number 1 singles and is the founding member of the band McFLY. The Brit Award-winning band has sold over 10 million records worldwide and Tom has also written songs for other artists including One Direction, Busted and 5SOS. Terms and Conditions We want all fans to have the best possible experience at Tom’s events. In the interest of the limited time available and to maximise the number of fans that Tom can meet, the following terms & conditions will be in effect for the Space Band book signing Event. We are putting these rules in place for the safety and enjoyment of everyone involved. We look forward to seeing you there! Tickets are available from Ticketmaster https://www.universe.com/tomfletcherspaceband for purchase at a price of £9.04. The purchase price includes one of a limited number of places for the Event, plus a copy of Space Band (booking fee included). Your ticket entitles you to one place in the queue to have your copy of Space Band signed by Tom Fletcher at the Event. Anyone under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult. Any accompanying adults will not require a ticket. Should you not receive your email confirmation, please contact WHSmith Events using the contact host button at the bottom of this page quoting your booking reference. You will be required to show your ticket to gain entry to the Event, and as proof of purchase. Ticketholders will receive their copy of the book at the Event. If you have purchased a ticket and are no longer able to attend but still wish to receive a signed copy of Space Band, please contact WHSmith Events using the contact host button at the bottom of this page quoting your booking reference. Reserved copies cannot be guaranteed and may not always carry dedications. Please do not attend the event if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 or if you have been advised to self-isolate. The Event will operate on a first come first served basis, so early arrival is recommended. Queuing will be available one hour prior to the event. Early arrivals will be turned away. Anyone arriving to the store before 3pm will be asked to return at or after 3pm. To avoid disappointment, we advise you not to arrive any later than the signing start time. You may be required to queue outside the store, so please do come prepared for all weathers and keep hydrated! Refreshments will not be available at the Event, but facilities are available instore or at nearby outlets. Dedications may be permitted, time allowing. The exact time at which the Event ends will be determined by the promoters on the day. A maximum of one book and one entry ticket for the Event per person. One additional copy of any of Tom’s children's books (including Space Band) is permitted to be brought from home or purchased on the day to be signed by Tom. Tom will sign a maximum of two books per person. Only copies of Tom’s children’s books will be signed. No other merchandise will be signed. A photo opportunity will be available with Tom at the Event, so please feel free to bring your phones! Staff will be on hand to take your camera/phone to get a photo of you with Tom whilst he signs your book. However, if you hand your camera or phone to a staff member for them to take a photo, you do so at your own risk – our staff accept no responsibility for your camera or phone. Due to time constraints, we won't be able to accommodate selfies. Please note only ONE photo per ticket holder permitted due to timing restrictions. Additional copies of Space Band and Tom’s other books will be available to purchase on the day, and proof of purchase may be required if you would like any of these signed (subject to the limit of two signed books per person). Please note the event may be filmed. If you are attending and do not consent to footage of you being used for promotional purposes, please notify WHSmith without delay at support@whsmith.co.uk. Management has the right to refuse entry or remove anyone from the Event who does not comply with these rules or who fails to follow reasonable instructions on the day. Please note that events can occasionally be cancelled at short notice or their times or dates may alter; we therefore recommend that you check with our store before travelling.
