How did the Home Brew clubs get to have casks at the event?
Each
club chose a local brewery to partner with where their creation was
fermented and then delivered to the venue under that brewery's
license. While club members did all the work the brewery was needed to
make the casks legal under both BC Liquor Law and the Canadian Excise
Law. As a measure of thanks we also invited all those partnered
breweries to include there own cask. We would also like to recognize
those breweries for helping us make this awesome event possible, TriCities Brew Club - Real Cask Brewing, Tri-Cities Cask Festival Association - Moody Ales, Fraser Valley Fermentalists - Maple Meadows Brewing, Full Barrel Homebrew Club - Trading Post Brewing, Brew Westminster - Steel & Oak Brewing, Ten Corners Homebrew Club - Ravens Brewing Company, UVic Wizards of Beer - Moon Under Water Brewery, Vanbrewers - Boombox Brewing Co., Cowtown Yeast Wranglers - Tool Shed Brewing & Royal Canadian Malted Patrol - Central City Brewers & Distillers. The KPU Brewing Club is sponsored by their own program due to the school holding a license to fully teach the art of brewing.
