The NGB Award 2 is the highest qualification on the Gaelic Games Coaching Pathway.
To enroll, coaches must have completed both the Foundation (ICGG) and Award 1 qualifications.
Before registering, ensure you have proof of completion by checking with your County Games Manager or Michael Glover at michael.glover.ulster@gaa.ie.
The Award 2 Youth/Adult course is tailored for coaching players aged 13–18 (youth) and 19+ (adult), focusing on the specific skills required for each group. The course covers both what to coach and how to coach, while introducing key areas of performance and reflective practices for coaches, players, and teams.
The course consists of 27 hours, including several key modules and both theoretical and practical sessions:
Course Dates:
Monday 4th November: Online interactive webinar (19:00–22:00)
Saturday 9th November: Theory and practical sessions (09:00–16:00)
Monday 11th November: Online interactive webinar (19:00–22:00)
Saturday 16th November: Theory and practical sessions (09:00–16:00)
Monday 18th November: Online interactive webinar (19:00–22:00)
Saturday 30th November: Practical assessment (09:00–14:00)
**Venue for practical sessions is Slaughtneil GAC, 7 Halfgayne Rd, Maghera, Co Derry. BT46 5NZ **
The interactive webinars will be held online via Microsoft Teams. The venue for the Saturday theory and practical sessions will be centrally located based on the majority of participants and will be shared with attendees by Friday, 1st November.
Coaches must attend all sessions and demonstrate competence in practical assessments to earn the Award 2 qualification.
Only coaches who have completed the Award 1 post-2014 and are listed in the Ulster GAA Coaching Database are eligible. If eligibility is not met, a full refund will be issued.
