New Camerata Opera’s mission is to engage, excite and educate our audience through immersive performances that break down barriers and inspire the fans of the future. The organization accomplishes this via three main initiatives: main stage operas presented at innovative and daring venues, newly arranged and adapted children’s operas (Camerata Piccola), and originally commissioned short operatic films for presentation online (CamerataWorks). Through these multifaceted operations NCO has successfully brought countless new opera lovers into the cultural fold. The organization has been hailed as “the future of opera”, and is one of the most consistently active and present opera companies in New York. New Camerata Opera believes the rights and freedoms of all Americans should be vigorously protected, and peoples of every race, creed, orientation, gender, and economic status should be treated with love and respect. We feel compelled to give back to the communities that have been so generous to us. Since its founding, NCO has offered concerts for the benefit of charity, donating our time, talent and all proceeds from the event to help make the world a better place. Past recipients are Planned Parenthood, and BRC for the homeless. This year’s concert will be held at the Congregational Church of Manhasset. 100% of all donations received will go to benefit Sandy Hook Promise, a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities. Gun violence touches every town in America. For too long, change has been thwarted by the Washington gun lobby and by leaders who refuse to take common-sense steps that will save lives. NCO is pleased to partner with the Congregationalist Church of Manhasset to offer United We Sing as a part of their ongoing series, Concerts for a Cause which continues to raise money for worthy causes and offers entertainment and fellowship for the Manhasset community. The program will feature the co-founders of New Camerata Opera and guest artists from New York City and the Manhasset area. Beautiful selections from beloved operas and Broadway shows will make up the afternoon’s entertainment, offered with touches of immersive theater for which New Camerata Opera is so well known. Tickets will also be available at the door.
