Randy Stewart is bringing new tunes, a case full of old ones, some stories, tall tales and out-and-out lies to Belleville's newest music venue - UpFront Gallery & Cafe on Wednesday, September 13 - supported by the undeniably virtuoso guitar stylings of Matt Smith. New songs include The Ballad of PE Pickleball, FREEDumb's Just Another Word (You've Failed To Understand), Caitlyn's Song (Is Not A Love Song) and Selfish & Stupid (The Voices In My Head).
The jokes though, will be the same.
Randy Stewart is a Canadian singer/songwriter who has been crusading for years to purge love songs from his performances. His mantra - Sad Songs & Funny Songs ‘I DON’T PLAY LOVE SONGS’ - has become familiar to music fans throughout the region. The lovelorn, lovesick and skeptical can take refuge when Mr. Stewart takes the stage to give them something to sing about – that doesn’t wear its heart on its sleeve.

He has been performing professionally for more than 30 years - and has been seen on television, heard on radio and recorded by the CBC. His recordings can be found in the delete bins of some of the country’s finest record stores.
