More and more companies are building UXR practices, and opportunities for innovation and leadership are popping up everywhere. We believe that this is a critical moment for the UXR community to be ambitious and experimental. It’s time to strive. These talks will have limited space to create an intimate environment for conversation and connection at different venues across downtown Toronto. Each track is tailored to different points in your UXR journey, whether you’re just starting out or taking on a research leadership role: Research FoundationsDive deep into lesser-known methods and emerging perspectives to build and shape your UX research toolkit. Who's it for? Students and newer UXRs looking to strengthen their execution skills, broaden their technical competencies, and make steps to level up. Advancing Your PracticeLearn how well-developed methods are being adapted in challenging contexts and innovative ways. Who's it for? Intermediate and senior UXRs looking for fresh perspectives and ideas. Leadership in ResearchHear stories from research leaders about how they manage their teams and elevate the role of research in their organizations. Who's it for? Research Leads and Managers looking for perspectives on leadership in UXR. Research Through DesignLearn from practitioners who are rooted strongly in the context of design practices and include design methods within their research toolkit. Who's it for? Designers who have one foot in both the world of UXR and design that are looking to hear stories about how they’re uniquely positioned to be catalysts for change. ✨New at #UXRConf 2019: Full Day Research Ops Workshop with Kate Towsey ✨ Alongside our tracks, we'll also be having our full-day Research Ops workshop, for those who are building a research practice from the ground up. You’ll learn about all the elements of the ResearchOps ecosystem and how they fit together. You’ll explore and map where to start in building out a practical, achievable and maintainable ResearchOps function that’s appropriate to your organization’s maturity and scale. And you’ll be able to troubleshoot with someone who’s done and is doing it all. The instigator of the ResearchOps Community and the #WhatisResearchOps initiative, she’s been instrumental in amplifying and shaping the conversation around this emerging practice. As Atlassian’s Research Operations Manager in Sydney, Australia, Kate is building out a team and delivering a seamless ecosystem to support people who do research.
