Waves Vienna versteht sich als Showcase-Festival und findet 2020 zum zehnten Mal statt. Von 10. bis 12. September 2020 treten vor allem jene Bands auf, die über internationales Format verfügen, aber es aus eigener Kraft noch nicht zu großer Bekanntheit geschafft haben. Neben einigen größeren Acts, geht es also vor allem darum neue Künstler zu entdecken und diese zu fördern.
Dabei wird das Waves Vienna zwei Gast-Partner willkommen heißen, einen aus dem Westen und einen aus dem Osten. Getreu dem Motto „East Meets West“ werden im Programm verstärkt Acts dieser beiden Gäste auftauchen. Darüber hinaus widmet die Waves Vienna Music Conference einen Teil ihres Programms den Musikmärkten und -szenen dieser Partner.

Waves Vienna is the city’s first club- and showcase festival and takes place now for the 10th time from 10th to 12th of September 2020. Numerous international emerging alternative, electronic, rock, and club acts will be shown on the streaming channels. Additionally, local artists and sophisticated musicians from Eastern Europe form an essential part of the festival’s programme.
Waves Vienna will welcome two partners, one from the eastern and one from the western part of the world. True to the motto “East Meets West”, there will be a focus on acts from these partner countries in the live programme. The Waves Vienna Music Conference will furthermore devote a part of its programme to the respective music markets and scenes from there.
