“The well-being of children is inseparable
from the well-being of the adults in their lives” -Stuart Shanker
Emotional
wellness is a dimension that involves being fully in touch with feelings and
emotions
As educators, we are often guilty of
“pouring from an empty cup”. This year, we will RETHINK how our emotional
wellness directly affects the children we engage with. With a strong focus on
our own well-being, we will explore a variety of areas that can help bring our
emotional wellness to the forefront.
Angie Rosati from the MEHRIT centre will
share a presentation on the self-regulation needs of adults. We will look at
how we can use “Self-Reg” strategies to manage, maintain, and enhance our own
well-being and ultimately better those around us, namely the children we work
with. Arielle Bush, Professional Art Therapist from Hoto Art Therapy will
engage us in a variety of art based exercises centred on concepts of emotional
literacy and wellness.
The day will also incorporate inspiring
stories from educators within our own community.
Winter Rethink 2019 promises to be a day that
fills your cup!
