Description:
With the great growth of start-ups in our economy, the world turns its eyes now to the characters who are increasingly leading innovation and technology companies around the world: women. Even though women participation rates might be low (reaching 9% in US companies) when it comes to owning business, women are majority owners of over 36% of small businesses, according to the Harvard Business Review (Sahil Raina, 2017).
We live in a modern society that aims at equality and respect for all. Although female executives achieve 35% higher returns on investment (Forbes, 2013), it is important to bring to the table the challenges that women face in tech industries and their accomplishments in their business endeavours, as well as consider ways to engage more women into the technology and innovation sector.
The 3rd edition of ExpoPlaza Latina Start-up and Innovation opens its doors to an extensive discussion on how women are succeeding in all the Americas, from North to South, and what actions we can take to improve or help to change one another’s reality.
