Description
Get one or two full days of instruction on React & Redux -- today's hottest front-end technologies for building robust, scalable applications. Learn from experts in the field who build real-world apps with React & Redux on a day-to-day basis.
Day 1: Building an E-commerce App with React
Day 2: Implementing the Flux Application Architecture
A Few Notes:
You may take Day 1 only (React), Day 2 only (Redux), or both. Indicate your preference at sign-up.
Our Recommendations:
Day 1 Only: If you have 0 experience with React, we recommend taking day 1 only. We advise learning Redux only once you're comfortable with React.
Day 1 + Day 2: If you are fairly comfortable with React, and want to see how a senior developer approaches building a full-stack app with it, we recommend Day 1 and Day 2.
Day 2 Only: If you are already an expert with React and just want to learn Redux, you can take Day 2 only.
Learn React from the Experts
There's a lot to learn when it comes to building real-world apps with React, but it all starts with mastering React itself. In this workshop, we'll cover how to think in React, the problems it solves, and how to write, render, and reuse React code, all within the context of a full-stack application. On Day 2, we'll integrate Redux into our app.
Saturday November 19
Dive deep into React and learn how to structure it within the frame of a production application. Code along with us as Berkeley Martinez builds out an e-commerce app.
By the end of Day 1, you will have implemented the following features:
Application Structure
Sign-up/Login
User Profile
Products Store
Product Search
Fuzzy Search
Shopping Cart
Favorites
Sunday November 20
Sunday we'll integrate Redux into the e-commerce app. Redux is the most popular implementation of the Flux application architecture. It helps you to manage your state more effectively and, among other features, helps you achieve a more stable and robust application growth.
“The training was a great opportunity to work with and learn from real-world React experts. These guys have a solid grasp of the technology and the best practices around using it."
- Aaron Siladi
"I greatly enjoyed the Building Real-World Apps with React Workshop I attended on February 21st, 2016. They explained concepts clearly, and were patient and encouraging when answering questions. The in-class projects were well-designed for a group that included students who had varying levels of experience with React. The workshop was, overall, very well organized, and fun to attend!"
-Lorien Smyer
“The Real World React workshop lived up to its name! The boilerplate app made it simple to dive into React and get to coding ~ using a Reddit api right off the bat to gather user input and search Reddit felt like a realistic exercise. Berkeley did a great job breaking down components, state, and props and even how to start working with JSX and ES6! I can't wait for the next React workshop and I hope to see it grow! Thanks guys!!”
